On Firm Footing (Part 3)

Plenty of celebrating is taking place in the households of June and Joy. Yesterday was my birthday and today (August 13) is Mandy’s big day. Mandy and I are not just friends, neighbors, and blog partners… We are also birthday buds! (This is where you respond with an eye-roll or silly smile, depending on your personality.)

I hope the day you celebrate another year under the sun is a treasured day. My day held cards, texts, Facetime calls, flowers, a picnic, a date, and pie. To be celebrated and loved (and spoiled) does something for a person’s soul.

Today, as we wrap up our series on insecurity, I’m thinking about this idea of feeling cherished. To feel cherished and celebrated is the antidote for insecurity. Would you agree that it is easiest to rest secure when you are reminded you are loved?

We were designed to experience love and not the insecurity that stems from fear. We were made to feel cherished, accepted, and celebrated.

Ready for this?

You are!

Daily you are cherished, accepted, and celebrated by Jesus.

He shows us in a million little and BIG ways that we are His delight.

This week, Jesus reminded me that He is always showing us how he loves us. I saw Jesus’ love for me when I noticed a stunning, pink flower blooming in my wildflower garden; a hummingbird that reminded me of a time God healed a my hurt soul; and my children studying their own kid’s books on the couch. Like a whisper to the heart, I knew God delighted in me.

He delights in you too. Will you watch to see how He shows you this?

As we bobbed on these waters of insecurity, we might have lost sight of land. Look for security in Him. You can step onto land secure in Jesus’ design and delight for you.

Review from our series:

·      Does your soul know you are wonderfully made?

·      Your home and hospitality is valuable. Don’t let a little mess or clutter keep you from hospitality. Housekeeping and hospitality is not the same thing. Open you door knowing your friendship is so very needed.

·      Don’t let insecurity rob you from being a beginner.

·      When we remember who we are, because of what Jesus did for us, we won’t let insecurity drive our decisions.

·      You were made to feel cherished, accepted, and celebrated. AND YOU ARE!

You are a wonder!

P.S. Don’t these photos make you revel in this masterpiece of earth God planned for us to live on.
