Who We Are

At June and Joy, the goal is to answer honestly: “I’m doing well,” when someone asks how you are. What does it look like to live life well? We explore that here. 

Often, I write for the joy of untangling thoughts and perking my ear for truth. Other times, writing feels a lot like work (un-paid work!). I do hope that when I die, people will say: “She was a writer.” It doesn’t have to be many people, but that would be splendid if it is!

When I am not writing, you can find me cooking for my family, taking my three kids on a walk in our little town, sending videos to my long-distance family, or planning (my favorite!) a party or trip. I’m a wife to a man who can fix or build anything; a mother to L, M, & N; and homemaker in our house with a picture window fixed on the western horizon.

Hey there! I’m Mandy, the girl behind the camera! I am the owner of Mandy June Photography and love capturing adventures! I am married to my best friend and farmer, Dusty, who deals with all of my shenanigans! If you were to walk into a room, you would probably spot me pretty easily, I would be the loud one. We have two 4-legged kids, Merle and Dixie and I tend to share too many photos of them, but who can blame me? I love being a child of God and my mission is for others to see Him through me! I want to be that light. 

Being a photographer has allowed me to chase that dream of mine, but the best part of all is forming new friendships with my clients! When people leave my sessions they always feel elated! Some of my favorite things in life would have to be turquoise, lace and the mountains. I have a huge love for what God has created, seeing the sunrise and sunset during sessions is one of the biggest perks! The mountains, rivers, trees, and wildlife make me wonder if this is even real! Pinch me!

I pray that you all find joy in the images that you will see in this blog! I also pray that you find comfort and excitement in what you will read from Kassie! That you take time out of your busy schedule and daily distractions to really read the blogs, and to spend time in God’s Word.
